Meet Your Teacher: Irina

Irina's journey began at age 6 in the demanding classical music system of Russia and Ukraine - where students attended music school 5 days a week alongside regular school, studying piano, solfège, theory, choir, and music literature.

After completing 7 years at Chernigov Music School and graduating from Music College, Irina worked as a piano teacher, ballet accompanist, and kindergarten music director before moving to Australia in 1996.

Since opening Irina Music School in Brisbane in 2014, she has dedicated herself to passing on the rich tradition of Russian classical piano pedagogy - helping students develop not just skill, but genuine musical understanding.
